Charles C. Mann, a correspondent for the Atlantic, is an award-winning author, including the National Academies Communication Award for best book of the year for his book 1491. Mann specializes in scientific topics and is a contributor to Science and Wired, as well as having written for Fortune, the New York Times, Smithsonian, Technology Review, Vanity Fair, and the Washington Post. His writing credits extend to HBO and the TV series Law & Order.
