Nine countries in Europe will be “the world as our campus” for four wonderful weeks in June 2019. This significant learning experience abroad is designed for undergraduate business students; however, students of any major interested in global affairs and travel are also welcome. You will receive “on-the-ground” experience in European business, government, and culture, as we visit companies, castles, and cafés of Europe, spanning the UK to Greece. We will also enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of these countries, such as Europe’s highest peaks in the Swiss Alps as well as sunsets in the Greek Islands.
Business visits (tentative): Companies in a variety of industries, such as BMW (factory tour), Amazon, Microsoft, Dannone, GE, United Nations, Schindler, Siemens, Geox, Google, and PWC.
Cultural visits (tentative): England: Big Ben, Tower of London, changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey; France: WWII D-day beaches in Normandy, Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, Versailles, Notre Dame cathedral, Arc de Triumph; Germany: Neuschwanstein Castle (of Disney’s inspiration) in Bavaria, Munich’s glockenspiel, Nazi concentration camp Dachau; Austria: Salzburg’s salt mines and Sound of Music tour; Switzerland: Zurich, Geneva, and the Swiss Alps; Italy: the art museums of Florence, the Roman Forum, Colosseum, the Vatican and Sistine Chapel; Croatia: Dubrovnik’s Old Town; Bulgaria: Rila Monastery of Sofia; Greece: the Acropolis (Parthenon) of Athens, ancient Greek wonders of Delphi and Corinth (where the Apostle Paul taught), and the blue-domed chapels on the cliffs of Santorini in the Greek islands. We also plan a group temple excursion to the LDS Rome temple (to be dedicated March 2019).
