Discover the cultures of some of the oldest civilizations on earth while studying the dynamic business practices in some of the world’s most intriguing regions. This program will expose students to the unique challenges and economic realities in Asia and in the South Pacific. They will gain a global perspective of diverse business approaches to finance, human resources, marketing, strategy, supply chain, and trade policy. Students will experience international business and culture first-hand.
Business visits (tentative): Nike, IBM, Mazda, Samsung, Microsoft, Walmart, PwC, DHL, Exxon-Mobil, Marriott International, Goldman Sachs, and Qualtrics, among others.
Cultural visits (tentative): shrines and temples in Kyoto, Hiroshima Peace Park (Japan), DMZ, National Palace (South Korea), the Terra Cotta Warriors (China); Victoria Peak, white dolphin sighting excursion, Big Buddha (Hong Kong); the Royal Palace (of the King and I), elephant rides (Thailand); Angkor Wat (Cambodia), Cu Chi Tunnels from the Viet Nam War, Sydney Opera House (Australia); Hobbiton, glow worms in the Waitomo Caves, Hamilton LDS Temple (New Zealand); Waikiki Beach/Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center (Hawaii).
