This program is unique in the study abroad universe in many ways. Just as nineteenth-century travelers traversed Europe soaking in art, architecture, and culture, the “Peacock Grand Tour” will be an extensive, intensive experiential learning opportunity for a select set of well-prepared students. Those who are fortunate enough to be chosen for this once-in-a-lifetime journey will experience every single day moments of beauty, introspection, analysis, understanding and enlightenment. Our classroom will be the Acropolis in Athens, the Vatican Museum in Rome, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, the Nefertiti bust in Berlin, Cologne Cathedral, the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh collections in the Netherlands, the Ghent Altarpiece in Belgium, the Death of Marat in Brussels, the Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay, Chartres Cathedral, Chenonceau in the Loire valley, the Well of Moses in Dijon, Grunewald in Colmar, Strasbourg Cathedral, the National Gallery and the Tate Galleries in London. No one leaves this experience as the same person who started it. We promise long, sometimes challenging, but always engaging, days and nights. You will come to see yourself and your world through the eyes of the enlightened, informed recipient of the riches of the Western cultural tradition. You will in so many ways be reborn. If this sounds appealing, contact us about the application to the program, preparation required before departure and any other questions that your imagination may provide.
