Business Language Case Competition

The BYU Business Language Case Competition (BLCC) provides business students with the opportunity to showcase their theoretical business knowledge and foreign language skills, while sharpening their presentation skills to real-life global business situations. The fall 2011 competition will be for non-native Spanish, and Chinese speakers. The 2010 BLCC featured three categories: Spanish, Chinese, and Portuguese including 22 teams from 16 universities across the country. Cash prizes are awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning $1,000, $500, and $250 respectively.

Who is invited to participate?

    • All undergraduate students can form teams of three. These teams come from various universities across the country. The University of Miami CIBER is a co-sponsor of the 2011 event.

How are they chosen?

    • By a panel of judges fluent in the language. Judging is based on the criteria of business presentation skills, problem-solving abilities with regard to the case, and language fluency.

    • The competition is held on BYU campus
