How is Korea treated in CD-ROM reference works?

In this age of computer, with the information revolution on-going around us, a small disk called a CD-ROM can hold thousands of pages of data. In addition, it can hold and play music, voice, pictures, and even movies. Sometimes called multimedia, a variety of presentations are possible on a single subject.

The CD-ROM's we acquire contained information on Korea, and presented their data in a wide variety of approaches. Some were merely electronic transcriptions of written data only. Others presented sight and sound, movies and maps, arts and animation.

We developed a system of evaluation whereby we rated each disk in a variety of categories, including ease of use. Some CD's were designed well where the interconnections of data was smooth and fast. Others were awkward, prone to technical glitches, or offer nothing more than text.

Overall, the electronic revolution is positive in is treatment of Korea. More information is being made available than ever before about Korea. School children have more access to information about Korea from a wider variety of sources.
